Take a seat in your homeland.
HxM Hocker | HEIMAT x MENSCH | 2021
HEIMAT X MENSCH is a cultural project in search of the different, individual definitions of the term homeland. The outcome, a portrait series of diverse people rooted in the Lower Austrian district called Mostviertel. Photographed by Michael Liebert and written by Birgit Wagner. This portrait series was shown on three dates in three locations in the Mostviertel, together with the stool - STUDIO SR.ADD interpretation of homeland.
The approach was a clear language in form and material, designed to be a long-term reminder of the HEIMAT X MENSCH project. Stefan Radinger relies on concrete as a solid material, because of its ground based ingredients, but makes the stool durable and dimensionally stable. The side faceting is an allusion to the ups and downs: the seasons, the soil, the life and the landscapes. In addition, the bevels make it possible to connect two (or more) stools to one another to form a bench. The plain sides of the stool keeps the visible balance and gives the viewer different views depending on the angle. Branded with a durable enamel emblem recessed on one side of the stool.
